Unfortunately this is about as good as it gets for the Plague Doctor’s direct attack options. Throw in a couple stun trinkets (and the doc has a good one) and you can easily stunlock enemies and even some bosses. AOE stuns are great, and being able to shut down the back row is particularly great-the enemies back there are generally more dangerous and harder to reach, so being able to keep them out of commission while your damage dealers work their way back is fantastic. The Plague Doctor’s bread and butter and the main reason to have one around. It still suffers from difficulty getting targets lined up, even with corpses to hold the line.īlinding Gas: Solid. Now that Noxious Blast has been nerfed and can’t do direct damage, Plague Grenade is almost fully twice as good-which is still okayish at best. Add in terrible range and it’s tough to justify its spot in a build these days. Dealing some damage + strong DOT is ok, dealing virtually no damage + strong DOT is laughable. This used to be a serviceable attack, but then it got hit with a nerf hammer for no reason whatsoever.

She also has a problem in that many of her support skills and DOTs are best used early in the fight, so she winds up having more options than she can use round 1 but as the fight goes on she has less and less to do-if there’s no bleeds/blights to patch up she often winds up just twiddling her thumbs. She’s pretty much a dedicated support character at this point, and to be fair she has some really, really strong support abilities… but with her attacks being inexplicably nerfed she has a harder time than ever contributing directly. It's a really fun class and I enjoy using it, but it's still distinctly lackluster. I’ve got a love/hate relationship with the Plague Doc.
